Music Wonderland provides opportunities for children to develop a foundation for musical expression through singing and playing instruments. Nurturing the willingness and ability to listen to music will provide a solid foundation for enhanced musical aptitude. Children will experience singing and playing which helps to develop musical expression. A parent is required to attend each class and participate with their child.

An ideal time to begin formal music training is between the ages of four and five. Yamaha's Junior Music Course is designed to make the most of this time in your child's life. The curriculum focuses on music appreciation, pitch recognition, rhythm, singing, introduction to keyboard playing and ensemble. The course provides an excellent foundation for any future direction in music. A parent attends and participates with their child each week and supervises practice at home.

New Students (YMC 1) - Fall 2011 Spring 2012 |
This is a six-semester course for beginners ages 6-8 who are studying music for the first time. Its goal is to develop each student's fundamental musicianship and to introduce basic keyboard skills, music reading, singing, ear training, rhythm, and improvisation. Students work within a music ensemble, generating individual effort and providing an accelerated learning environment.

Also called Junior Music Course 5-8, this four-semester course builds on the skills and musicality developed in Junior Music Course 1-4. This course is designed to strengthen keyboard technique and music reading skills, nurture musical sensitivity so that it becomes an integral part of your child's performance, and encourage self-expression by providing opportunities for musical creativity.

The Junior Advanced Course will build on the musical skills acquired in the Junior Extension Course, and apply them to keyboard and ensemble performance. This exciting new course will further develop performance skills on the piano or Electone in the private lessons, develop creative ability in musical arrangement and improvisation, and continue to emphasize hearing, reading, writing, singing and ensemble skills as part of a broader musical foundation.
